Thank you Tom and Hilary for believing in me and seeing things in me that I never saw. Your presence in my life has been god sent & I thank whoever's out there for allowing me to meet you two right at the start of my UX career. 🙏🏼 You have paved the way and made me understand what it takes to be a great boss/mentor.

My First Project: A Government HRP Project

Due to non-disclosure reasons I will not be able to talk or show you what we specifically did.

In summary: 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻Conducted over 80 user interviews back to back over a span of 2 months 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️1 day design sprints (just like the one above) that last over 2 months 🎨 Style sheet was produced post this exercise to aid in replicability

Day sprints looked a little like this ^ 7 UX practitioners moving in and out of testing rooms and discussing our findings, synthesizing our insights and eventually deciding on how to improve usability and eventually create new user testing sheets such that we could tests our hypothesis the next day.

✅ The screens that we worked with over a span of 3 months amounted to over 1000 screens however this only represented 2% of the products they have. It was important for us to design the core components of the system with flexibility, maintainability as well as replicability.

  • For instances tables: We needed to ensure that we considered most use cases, with an avatar, with numbers, without sub labels, tables used for navigation to other pages etc.

These instances of component manipulation / shape-shifting was documented in a HRP Style Sheet.
