How I helped a Fintech start up build their first design system

🌍 The Context

Exploring Design systems was really an itch I needed to scratch. Therefore, I sought out internship experiences that did just that.

Unlike Shopee, I came into Funding Societies when the Design System was nowhere in sight. However, I joined forces with my supervisor, Samantha, who truly believed in the value of the design system 🙏🏼

⭕️ The Problem

Funding Societies is an SME financing platform. Essentially your one-stop shop for all of your financing needs. We disburse them fast and quickly using our proprietary underwriting scores.

We ran into the following problem:

• One product that served 2 very different types of customers (e.g. Investors vs borrowers)

• Different types of products and existing on different platforms across regions

  • Furthermore, as Funding Societies was a Regional Fin-tech established in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, there was a pertinent need to establish consistency as we scaled aggressively.
